Arteventura is located in the true heart of Spain, a mesmeric place full of rolling hills and shaded by a seemingly infinite canopy of oak and cork trees. My experience of making art and walking in the Sierra has certainly coloured the way I view the region with its incredible array of fauna & flora. I have found myself responding artistically in a very symbiotic expression.

The artwork was varied, from making drawings and modifying found objects, to overlapping videos with alternate sounds of the local living inhabitants. I find I am responding to a place that reminds me of how life can burn slowly, but with clear intensity and focus.

I have found my time in Aracena a kind of rekindling of what I am most interested in artistically. It encouraged me to rethink some of my practice while always propelling new and exciting ideas that I think will sustain me for years to come.
