I am so grateful to receive the news that I am a recipient of this year’s Arts Act Grant by Create Louth in support of my upcoming artist residency in Arteventura in Spain.

My current work is based on the concepts of our connection to the transient nature of our surroundings, how our environs are always in flux and how we attempt to make sense of this place. I consider my work a visual investigation of these experiences through an introspective lens. By processing my findings through photographs, drawings, paintings and video work I am able to extrapolate and condense a sense of discordant understanding. It often offers a fleeting glimpse into the abyss of the universe that encapsulates us.

No better place to work on furthering my practice than to spend a month on an artist residency which is located in the heart of the nature reserve “Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche” in the far northwest of Andalusia in Spain.

During this month-long residency, I will specifically finalize a piece of video work based on the nature park where this residency is located in while I will also make a series of drawings.
