If you ever wondered how I work, here is a sneak peek behind the scenes of the mural I made for the Connection exhibition at Droichead Arts Centre.

During the 3 full days that I worked on it, I wanted to make a multi-focused immersive wall-based artwork that would encourage the viewer to step back, step into and spend time finding new and exciting visuals within the painting.

The opportunity to make work in the public sphere while in the grips of Covid19 including strict rules of engagement inspired me to find ways of making connections with the world, the public and my own ideas through the creation of this mural. The artwork has a reflective quality to the complex situation we found ourselves in, both as a community and individually addressing concepts of how we might find ourselves trapped and seeking a direction.

The photographs were taken by Jenny Matthews, the timelapse was made and produced by me.
